Beside Camborne’s main street; 9 Oct 2013.
I had an initial thought about using mono here, but preferred to stick with the overall griminess and tarnish. I have no idea what W119 is or was – unless its the pipe!
The orange sign obviously stands out, but the bright metal strut to the left is also a highlight amongst all this duller light and shadow.
There were a lot of things to photograph in Camborne’s main street – unless of course that was just the mood I happened to be in that day – but I recommend a walk there if you find yourself in this town.

Dark, moody, mysterious. This would make a great set for a murder mystery. Miss Marple? Poirot? Sherlock?

I agree, good thinking – but maybe the adjective “grubby” might be in there too – and what about …. Clouseau …. ???? …..

But could we hope that they would be able to find Cato Fong to help him out (or #%&% him up)?

Good that you decided to not do this one in mono.
I really like the colour in the “W119” too, it’s an image that needs to be in colour.
I have no idea the meaning of the numbers either. 🙂
A nice detail and very well seen, Adrian.

I’s sure this would have lost a lot of impact in Mono, Adrian. A lot of grungy colour here that balances that sign neatly.

Thanks, Ashley! I did try this in mono but, really, it ruined it. Thanks for your good thoughts! Adrian

Agree, the grime and tarnish add to the texture and mood of this photo…
