Up close and personal with a Plane tree in a rather upmarket street in south Bristol; there is another Plane across the road.
Very tolerant to pollution, these big trees are often planted beside roads.

What character! I can see a face there with a mouth wide open complaining about the gentrification 🙂

Yes, now you mention it, I can see the face too! And yes, our species is pushing forwards through thick and thin, and what have we – here – (for the moment at least) ended up with? … gentrification and political correctness .. oh and I forgot, of course, the planet’s preoccupation with wealth and power …. LOL!!! this is where “no alterative but to drink heavily” really sits up and works as a life path/philosophy!!! 😀

Oh, and just to cheer you up … one of my truly valued possessions is a CD box set of the complete series 1-8 of Rab C Nesbitt, and I’m watching the whole lot, right through.
But do I think doing this will affect the stylish and educated way in which FATman Photos is written???
No I ***** don’t!!! I will tell you this, boy, I will tell you this, FATman ***** Photos will be even better than before, so there y’ar, there y’ar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Oh, I love Rab C Nesbitt – they don’t make them like that anymore. The one that sticks in my mind is where Rab, his wife, his mate Jamesey and his wife go on holiday and get terribly sunburnt; hilarious! Rab started off as a character in the comedy sketch show ‘Naked Video’. Did you ever see that show?

Yes, I like the holiday episode too – especially where Rab meets his head-bandaged Spanish counterpart, and they rave friendship to each other. But I don’t know Naked Video at all, maybe that was in my Kenya years. 🙂

Very cool detail on this Plane Tree, Adrian. They are such odd looking trees– they are all over SF. Looks great in black and white.

HI Adrian, I am certain I had been following you but noticed it wasn’t checked. Seems to happen with WP sometimes. 🙂

I wish that were so >>> but this morning I was stunned to see a Sparrowhawk perched up on the gutter of a house down the road – and it just stood there and looked down at me – and was still there 5 mins later. Usually they’re very shy, but I think it had chased a bird in under the eaves and was waiting for it to come out.
