Further computer problems, all getting rather uncertain really, so FATman Photos may stop blogging at any time without any warning.Β  What a pain!!!

About Adrian Lewis
Photographer - using mono, colour and combinations of the two - many types of subject, including Minimalism, landscapes, abstracts, soft colour, people, movement, nature - I like to be adventurous, trying new ideas, working in multiple genres. And I've a weakness for Full English Breakfasts and Duvel golden ale, though not necessarily together.

Appearing, disappearing, reappearing – what a pain indeed! Good luck with it all!

I sympathize/sympathise wholeheartedly. My 8-year-old Dell 8500 tower died 5 days ago and I immediately ordered a (Lenovo) replacement from a firm I’ve come to trust here in NZ. I received a prompt confirmation of my purchase with a promise of prompt (1-day) delivery, and I’m still waiting for it. Meanwhile, hanging in there with my trusty laptop (with its much smaller screen). Maybe tomorrow…

    • Adrian Lewis says:

Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear that – yes, maybe tomorrow. I’m afraid I’m not far up with computers these days – getting old and rusty! But how will you get the pics etc off your Dell if it is no longer working – or do you have everything backed up elsewhere? πŸ™‚

      • krikitarts says:

An excellent two-pronged question, and two happy answers: First, my old backup external hard drive died a few weeks ago and I replaced it with a new 5 TB one and updated all the backups; second, even though when booted, the old desktop would not allow me to use it normally, when I accessed it with my laptop through my home network, I was able to copy all essential files, downloads, favorite websites, etc. and save them for transfer to the new system. So it could be much worse, and I am both dreading and looking forward to rebuilding my new system. If it ever arrives.

What you need is some local cider to wash these problems away – and its just the season to call upon a friend with an orchard in the back garden.

    • Adrian Lewis says:

Good advice, Mark! When as kids we started drinking, cider was a rite of passage – rough Somerset scrumpy. But I’m very much into strong, golden, Belgian ales these days, notably Duvel. And this is certainly a “No alternative but to drink heavily” occasion!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  5. Hopefully you get the problem sorted Adrian, and FATman photos continues to share your great collection of image’s. Goodluck.

    • Adrian Lewis says:

Thank you very much, George, glad you like my pictures – LOL! its just a case of hoping for the best really. However, should it all fall apart, I will get FATman Photos up and running again as soon as I can. πŸ™‚

So sorry, Adrian to hear about your computer difficulties…It will all get sorted in the end but whilst it lasts it is a complete pain, I well know. Paula
