HOME 3 – THE BATHROOM WINDOW
November 29, 2020 14 Comments
.
Looking at the inside of the bathroom window. The handle of the window’s latch is in shadow, and is seen only as a thin pale line. To either side, the warm light of the rising sun reflects from the wall of the house next door and lights up the bathroom window’s frosted glass.
The window frame and handle are white, but the early light has given them a blue tinge, which I’ve left uncorrected: I like this addition to the picture’s colours.
And, in these pandemic days, this is the first X-T2 image for many months, which has to be a step forward.

Technique: X-T2 with 55-200 Fujinon lens at 223mm (equiv); 800 ISO; Lightroom, starting at the Camera Velvia/Vivid profile; Bristol; 26 Nov 2020.

Thank you! There are a few more coming in this vein. And yes, the therapeutic properties of photography are widely known, from way back before this pandemic started; photography is a wonderful means of relaxation, distraction and creativity. 🙂

That contoured glass makes for interesting textural patterns, and the golden glow is so warming.

Love it! That very bold strip down the middle, the contrasting colours, and the light catching the left side of the wood and the handle are just fab 🙂

Thank you, M! Have to say, and I know you’ll agree, that things are a but grueling at the moment, such that photos don’t always come easily. But I saw this scene and went straight downstairs and got the camera – and it felt mightily good using the X-T2 again and taking the photos! 🙂
