ARCHIVE 499 – SHADOW OF A FOOTBRIDGE
May 24, 2020 13 Comments
Shadow of a footbridge in Bristol’s Castle Park; 7 Oct 2014.
The ground here is a dark tarmac path that runs below the bridge. I find my eyes being attracted up to the bright leaf, but then being drawn back down along the various lines towards lower right – only to be attracted back up to the leaf once more.

Interesting composition and angular shadows, Adrian. And the leaf makes it! Hope all is well with you. 🙂

Yes, the leaf is the thing – I find a tension here, my eyes keep following the lines down to lower right, but the leaf brings them back up to upper left again.
Yes, we are both still ok thanks, though I’ve come down with problems in both legs. Also, while nothing like down at Trump’s level, our Prime Minster is not performing as well as I’d hoped and, in particular, he made a truly enormous error of judgement yesterday. 😦
Whereas I don’t know if you’ve seen it on the news, but New Zealand’s PM, whom I have a lot of respect for, remained remarkably calm and unfazed when her speech in the NZ parliament was interupted by a scale 5 earthquake! 🙂

Must read about your PM…I mostly avoid much of the news these days, it’s too depressing. I am impressed by NZ and did not read about the earthquake! We need more female leaders. 🙂
