OUTER SUBURBS 186 – EARLY MORNING 42

Rain during the night, and the streets glistening and reflective just before dawn.Β  On the right a bus shelter, and on the left, dimly seen, a supermarket’s advertisements.

There is another shot of this bus shelter here .

    • Thank you, Lynn; well, you know I’m an early morning fanatic – tho how long this will go on in my 70s is another thing! Still, I’m retired, so if a trip – like yesterday’s down to the Levels – tires me, as it has, I can relax with Belgian beers! But the days are lengthening now, and “the light” will soon only be available at extreme hours.

And real? Yes, this is not too far from reality – our eyes of course are better than our cameras in many respects, so I expect I saw more clearly into the shadows than is seen here – but my priority is the production of an attractive image, and that may well entail consciously getting away from the virtuous and indeed puritanical notion that my photographs must reflect bare, unadorned Reality. πŸ™‚

    • Oh yes, chiaroscuro, that’s the thing, bring it on! But I don’t consciously think about it, I just see scenes >>> light is always the thing. I “discovered” art and especially modern art (oh the Impressionists!) around 2000-2005, and attended some one-day university courses, maybe some of that has rubbed off. Very glad you like this – thank you, Linda! A πŸ™‚
