OUTER SUBURBS 172 – TREE IN WINTER, DAWN BREAKING

.
Tree in winter, and the day beginning.

The first flash photograph I’ve taken for ages.

Click onto the image twice to open a larger version in a separate window – definitely recommended.ย  Oh, I can be so breathtakingly forceful at times!!! …. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ….

Technique: TG-5 at 25mm (equiv); 6400 ISO; flash; Lightroom, starting at the Camera Vivid profile; Capture NX2; south Bristol; 2 Jan 2020.

Such beauty! The light coming through the branches and the light on the tree balance in a way that makes one look again. I will be interested in seeing more experiments with a flash; this one really works. There’s someone on Instagram who photographs trees with a flash. I’ll have to see if I can find him – I think you’d find the results interesting. Super image, Mr. A!

The intensity of the blues is dramatic. I am surprised the flash was able to give you that degree of illumination. Very strong image.

The picture was taken at 6400 ISO in Raw, and the initial image is in fact much lighter than this >>> I had to apply considerable underexposure to produce this result!!! But, being honest, a flash photographer I am not!!! >>> but I do like to try different techniques, and the more so when using a little compact like the TG-5. The beauty of digital, of course – experimentation is not difficult, and costs virtually nothing!
