Well, a 37 year old colour transparency that resided for over a decade in the heat and humidity of the tropics.  The colours are altering slightly, a little too much purple or mauve in there now, I think.

But does this matter, is this important?

I could refrain from posting this image because it is no longer a totally accurate representation of the scene – or simply enjoy it for what it now is.

To me, the former option would be far more than a tad puritanical, somewhere along a long road to nowhere perhaps.  Somewhere I never want to be.

      We are fellow travellers, my friend. An earlier comment of your’s today talked of the love in an image – well, I love being behind a camera and, in particular, being behind a camera in somewhere peaceful and quiet >>> although, that said, I may get out again during the dark early mornings into the midst of the roaring early morning rush hour, if I can summon up the resolve. 🙂

    Wonderful scene, A. I think that color correction in the digital transfer or post-transfer is a simple process (if the color is a problem for you) in almost any image editing software. And once the transparency is scanned you can have it both ways.

      Ken, thank you very much – I think I’m staying with the “miscoloured” tropical look! Hard to think back now to using film all those years ago in Kenya – luckily there was a lab in Nairobi that processed Agfa CT18, my favourite colour slide film. I still have the Olympus OM-1 and OM-2 cameras that I used in Kenya but, after all that tropical use, they are both mouldy now – but wonderful still to have them. A 🙂

  4. How did you digitize this ‘mr. FATman’?.. 🙂 May be you could, next to enjoying it for what it is now, also use the post processing possibilities of today and edit it towards your ‘nowadays standards’ of how it should look at it’s best. A little too much purple is easy to change in LR.

      I used a dedicated slide scanner to digitise this and many other slides, Harrie, and it gave faithful results. >>> but the thing is, I rather like enjoying it for what it is now, because it not only reminds me of that morning 42 years ago, but it also a reminder of the whole film – tropical photography – tropical climate experience. This is The FATman’s nostalgic side … an aging romantic???? ….. A 🙂 🙂 🙂
