Many farm/feral cats have half an ear missing, its a good thing! It’s because the Cats Protection League have caught them, given them a health check, flea and wormed treated and then neutered, the ear is clipped so the cat can identified, it is then returned to where it was living, to carry on hunting vermin, but without the risk of it breeding exponentially… In return the farms will often take on other farm/feral cats that are homeless for the CPL

Its very interesting to hear that, I’d no idea that that goes on. By coincidence, while I was photographing these farm cats, the farmer’s daughter offered me a new litter of 6 kittens which they didn’t want >>> but even with my great love of cats, I had the feeling that 6 kittens might significantly dent what I laughingly call my lifestyle, so I backed off!!! 🙂
