In my opinion (with which you may not agree), this is a picture to look deeply into, to get right in there with the darkness, the rain and the bright lights.  Click onto the image to open a larger version in a separate window, and click onto that image to enlarge it further.

Sitting in my car, waiting, a little nervously I suppose.  I mean, there may be people like me about.  And its just before dawn, on a rainy night.

It does look pretty edgy – I mean look at that bright eyed monster looking over towards us …….. what’s it gonna do …….? However, there’s something reassuring about the warm friendly light reflected on the car nearest to us – a suggestion that there is benevolent human life going about its business …….. or is it …………….?!!

Love the bright eyed monster thing! Must lock my Smarties away! But things weren’t too edgy because that friendly light reflected from the car nearest us was in fact the gleam from my eyes – what was that quote from Withnail and I? “I feel unusual …”? 😉 …

Excellent photo taken with that little camera…but you are so good at the framing too.

    • Adrian Lewis says:

Thank you, Paula. The framing is often supplemented by further cropping in Lightroom. Haha and this little camera!!! >>> I was in a clinic this morning, with specialists examining my discoloured toenail; there was a suspicion of cancer, but this proved wrong. Anyway, they wanted to take a photo of my nail but no one was available to take it – so Sue, my GP, who just happened to be there, said “But he’s a photographer! Have you got a camera with you?” And of course I had the TG-5, which I put into Microscope Mode for Sue to get the image – how handy can this little camera be??? 🙂

    I like this photo alot.

  4. Excellent shot! I especially like the ‘melting together’ of the cars into something abstract, but still in the real world.. Great colors as well. Cheers for the weekend, Adrian! I have a Westvleteren 12 quadrupel waiting; costed almost €10,- but ‘is considered to be the best beer in the world’… 🙂

    • Adrian Lewis says:

Harrie, thank you – very glad you like this! Cheers for the weekend >>> but the FATman’s diagnosis is that if you drink that 12 quadrupel, you may miss the weekend and come up smiling on Tuesday … 😉 …
