BRISTOL 128 – SILHOUETTE, JUST BEFORE SUNRISE

.

Walking in south Bristol on a frosty morning, with the sun just about to come up.  This silhouette opened up on my left: a building, a tall tree, curling branches – and two gulls, waiting for it to get a little lighter before starting to look for food.

The sun is just about to appear: a tiny contrail just left of the tree’s massive trunk is already lit up.

    • Thank you, Lynn, thank you. Well we are all different – morning people, afternoon people, night people, its what suits each of us best. But for me it no longer feels natural to get up late – the later hours of the day seem to be upon me almost at once and I have this feeling of having somehow lost something. And – lover of dozing in armchairs that I am – a doze at lunchtime and more collapsing later in the pm can be decidedly pleasant! 🙂

    • Yes, an early bird I am >>> but then I fade quite substantially later on in the day! Which is pleasant. Years of being a birder and working on safaris only served to make me more of a morning person, and I’m often up and about at 5am >>> 4am this morning in fact! I love the very earliest hours of the day, the best time to be up and about I think, but the very early sunrises of summer usually beat me! When put to it, I suppose I’m a bit of a maniac really – how honest can I get??? 🙂 🙂 🙂
