STILL LIFE 140 – LOVE

.

Looking for love?  Well its here.

The wide lens takes us into the image –  on the left, the orange letters stream in over our shoulder.  The walls and patterned floor are black, the door white, and the orange tones on the left are minutely mirrored below the door knob.  On the floor, cigarette butts (though I much prefer the Brit, dog ends).

Technique: X-T2 with 10-24 Fujinon lens at 17mm (equiv); 400 ISO; Lightroom, using the Classic Chrome film simulation; Park Street, central Bristol; 4 Aug 2017.

Whatever you’ve done with this image, Adrian – I love it! Hope all is good with you. I’ve a bit of catching up to do!

Well I’ll go to the bottom of the stairs, I’ve been thinking you’ve disappeared up your own herbal tea!!! Very good to hear from you again, and I hope all has been ok in the interim. Actually I haven’t done too much to this image – black vestibule, white door, orange message on wall, just some tweaking really. Off to your part of the world today, unless you’re now hellswear; a funeral, I’m sad to say, and then medicinal Duvels. A 🙂

Hi, Adrian! Are you off to Wiltshire? I’m now in Wales: absolutely homesick and not coping with the move very well at all 😦

Yes, I was in Pewsey yesterday – near the Marlborough Downs, on which I’ve done a lot of walking and birding (but v little photography) in the past. So sorry to hear Wales is not your thing – I did 6 years uni in Swansea – and went over to Tregaron a few years back to see the Red Kites again, and was amazed (and thrilled too) to be in a (small) supermarket filled with people speaking Welsh! Sounds like you’d better get back to Wilts! 🙂

Ah, Tregaron; we almost moved there but pulled out of the sale because the seller forgot to tell us it needed a new roof (and a lot of other things besides) 🙂 Not much happens there but the little town is quite lovely: independent shops; a fab craft shop; an iconic pub-hotel; and very clean loos!

There are lots of Red Kites in Wales – we have them flying over the garden and adjacent fields.

Wow, you found the secret door, my friend, did you open it or was it locked and are you still fumbling for the key? Please update us on this one!! Good one too.
