And the effects of tilting a very wide lens slightly upwards – yes there’s a wide field of view, but see how the metal post at upper right is tilting drunkenly outwards, while less obviously the same is true of the wall at upper left. Purists can probably correct such effects with software but I imagine this would reduce the overall area of view, and I’m happy to go with the effect as it is.

You are obvious a more matured photographer and your works are consistently good. I photograph very frequently for a period of time but have grown lazy. I need to build up my enthusiasm again.

I’ve been taking photos for 55 years or more, but it has only really become my main interest – passion, maybe – for the last 15 years or so. I find that this blog is a great source of motivation for my photography, and I also derive great pleasure from the writing involved, as with this morning’s post.
Blogging has taught me that we are all different from one another, and thus I can’t say what might rekindle your enthusiasm, but in my case it is feeling a creative passion – which is by no means always there – taking photos via my heart and my gut feelings, if you like. A 🙂

I sold away all my full frame gears a while ago. Big lenses and cameras suddenly felt heavy in my hands and in my bags, maybe my age has finally caught up with me. I am currently using the APS camera that my brother gave me and some kit lenses that I can have for cheap.
Ya I am trying to rekindle my passion with photography. I switched to oil painting for a while but at this moment I can’t paint so there’s no creative outlet for me
I wish to write but I really can’t write very well even after graduating with a master’s degree in art history. English is my third language and I constantly find myself struggling to spit out the right words.

I know just what you mean about the weight of full frame gear – age is catching up with me too! – but although I now have APS-C and smaller, I’m not yet at the stage of jettisoning the Nikon stuff, which continues to be excellent. And don’t worry about kit lenses at all, they do the job fine – I’m a vast believer in the content of images, not their technical excellence – a technically perfect image can be sterile but a very imperfect image filled with content and emotion will live on.
I’m not a linguist either. The languages (other than English) in which I have any competence are French and Swahili – and I also find myself mixing them up when I’m trying to say something. 🙂

I took some of my favorite pictures with a £50 (not-so) smart phone. The cheap phone has a 2 bladed camera aperture that produces nice starry flare. I like the now obsolete A mount system simply because I can get have flyweight kit prime lenses for cheap 😀 Also since old APS camera is now worth next to nothing, I do not feel the obligation to protect the camera. Having worked as an RnD engineer for years, I am very square and I used to be very technical when it comes to taking pictures.
I attended 1 year of French reading class. I can read some French but I do not like the language, the conjugation is a pain to learn and the pronunciations make my head spin.

Interesting shot…I like it. Yes, in my camera club days, thanks the lord, long since behing me, I would have corrected anything….BAD….as nothing is perfect and imperfections makes anything more interesting. Life itself is extremely imperfect anyway.
