SOMERSET LEVELS 284 – MORNING MIST, TADHAM MOOR

A misty and cold morning, along a rough track leading southwards across Tadham Moor; 16 Dec 2016.

A very simple place but one with great meaning to me, which has helped me through very dark days.

There’s a lot of tension in this composition – I keep wanting to see what’s around the corner.

Thank you, Gem! No, the cold is not so attractive but I still manage to weather it – rush hour Bristol was really quite parky (as we say) around sunrise yesterday but warm bakeries and food kept me going! What did I end up with? >>> a brioche bun that had been dipped in custard, with rashers of bacon that had been dipped in maple syrup on the top of it – wonderful insulation!, made me specs steam up, that sort of thing – and possibly my first ever taste of maple syrup! Hope you’re all doing fine. Relocating? ATP xxxXXXXXX!!!!!!

      • Me specs are steaming up just reading about it! Maple syrup?!?!? First time?!?! A regular thing around here on pancakes, waffle, oatmeal… Now dipped in custard? I’d LOVE to try custard just about anything!! No relocation yet. Hard time selling this big old house. Keep your fingers and toes crossed, bud.

Keeping everything crossed, bud, ambulance with crowbar, pneumatic jack (and his older brother Sid) and Vaseline on way, and wishing you all good luck with this endeavour!!! And I’m right with you on the custard thing. Maple surple? yes, I know … well … a sheltered life …. 😉 …

Thank you, my friend, I value your views – both those from your house and those in your mind!!! Yes, I agree with you too about mist’s calming effect – as with so many natural things, invaluable. xxx
