STILL LIFE 37 – CHALET 3: MORNING SUNLIGHT ON STAIRS (MONO)

Morning sunlight streams in through the window of our holiday chalet near Perranporth, Cornwall, lighting up the stairs ;  11 Apr 2016.

The actual steps of the stairs are not visible.  The camera is looking through the stairs’ wooden bannister/guard rails, to where the morning sun is striking the wall that borders the far side of the stairs.  Reflections from the blazing illumination light up the edges of the stairs’ wooden rails while throwing the rest of their stark shapes into silhouette.

A Minimalist abstract, the bare bones of a scene.

I like this very much – the colors, just a bit warmer and more appealing than straight black and white, and the creaminess in the focus. And of course the simplicity.

Thanks, Lynn >>> I’ve used one of SEP2’s tones here, one I use quite a lot – as you say its not quite straight b+w, and there’s a creaminess – SEP2 is a treasure!!! Adrian 🙂

Lisa, that’s good to hear – thank you! Hope you’re fine and well. The new Bristol mayor has started reversing and halting some of his predecessors policies – and we have a “Prime Minister” intent on using a campaign of fear to stop us leaving the EU – I didn’t have a lot of respect for politicians before all this started, but dear Mr Cameron is achieving unbelievably low standards of behaviour, this is a real eye opener. Adrian 🙂
