About Adrian Lewis
Photographer working in monochrome, colour and combinations of the two - with a great liking for all sorts of images, including Minimalism, landscapes, abstracts, soft colour, people, movement, nature - I like to be adventurous in my photography, trying new ideas and working in many genres. And I'm fond of Full English Breakfasts and Duvel golden ale, though not necessarily together.

I’m glad this hits you, Suzie, thank you. I think that looking at the everyday is an essential thing – this was taken some time back, and I’m not sure I do some much of this now. Adrian

Never hurts to look back at earlier experimentations.

You’re absolutely right – in fact I recommend looking back. And another trick is to leave images alone for awhile after they’ve been captured – do NOT get home and get straight into processing them – I’ve heard and read this in so many places. Rather, leave them alone, forget about them, for at least a few days, and then return to them – rested, refreshed – and very likely with a new eye – this approach, which of course also includes going back over images taken longer ago – can really pay dividends. Good advice. Thank you. But a bit tricky for now as I’ve got to post a photo every day.

Yes, absolutely – and my admiration for your taking on odd that one a day challenge will never cease! But are you restricting yourself to photos taken on the days that you post them, or simply posting a new (ie previously unposted) image every day??? Anyway, Suzie, whatever, something to keep in mind for when you’re in a less hectic regime! Adrian

Most of the photos are actually taken on the day. Sometimes I find more than one photo that I need to use and some days there is no photo opportunity and then I can use those spares.
It has been an incredible challenge but I’m loving the learning experience.

  3. What a fab photo. You’ve taken something so everyday and mundane and made it beautiful and interesting.
