SOMERSET LEVELS 233 – EARLY MORNING, ALLER MOOR 2 (MONO)

Early morning, Aller Moor 2
.

Wanting to get to know me better, Aller Moor; 4 June 2015.

An early summer’s morning, and I’m stopped down a dead end road, thinking about hot coffee and thick cut, bitter marmalade sandwiches.  And, as always, the object of great curiosity to the locals.

Normally I’d go at this sort of photography with a telephoto, but here a moderately wide lens gives some sense of closeness and immediacy, of being more in there with the action maybe.  One thing’s for sure – without that gate between us, I’d have been right in there with the action!

There are other images from this shoot here and here – they will open in separate windows.

D700 with 12-24 Sigma at 24mm; 200 ISO; Silver Efex Pro 2, starting at the Architectural preset.

  1. I love cows! But you already know that and I know you love cows too, my friend. I have some cow images from this summer, maybe I will post them some day.

    • Yes, especially comforting if you’re faced with a bovine maniac like him!!! And glad you remembered the falsetto ending “-oo”!!! – that’s all important to people like you and I, where would Life be without it????????????????????? 🙂

Oh, and forgot – very good to see you back around, Hallysann – and now I’m singing –

“Life has been a little saner (and more boring) each day,
      Since you’ve been away …”.

      Moo-oo!!!!!

      • Nice to be back. Hubby doesn’t like me to broadcast when the house will be empty so I have to hold onto my excitement before a holiday… But now that I’m back… Oh the photos I took… sea, sailing, dolphins (Yay for dolphins), sun, sand,.seagulls… more than enough to last me right through winter and beyond. 😀

    • I like cows. On a quiet time out in the country, its always good to have them come curiously across to see what I’m about – for me, they are a significant part of what being out in the country is all about. Thanks for your good words. A
