About Adrian Lewis

    Who’s a sleepy boy/girl then! Whoever ‘it’ is this makes a very attractive whimsical image – verging in the high key. Doesn’t look like a natural killer at all like this!

      That’s the thing, isn’t it – its looks so soft and lovable that we’re unable to resist giving it a nice friendly stroke – only to have our fingers ripped and shredded! Seeing one of these floating over countryside as a winter day closes down is one of the great things, I think – I was a birder for 35 years, and this was really one of the great sights. I’m glad you like the picture, Andy – thank you! Adrian

        Talking of shredding, yesterday a large bird of prey shredded a Wood Piegeon down the bottom of our garden. I shot it (photographically) from the bathroom window with a very long lens.Might be a Goshawk – don’t know, but I will post it tomorrow.

          Goshawk is a bird I’m not familiar with – there are difficulties distinguishing between them and large female Sparrowhawks – in both species the females are distinctly larger – I’ll look at your post. A
