Selfie with a spiral staircase
Selfie with a spiral staircase, Burnham-On-Sea, Somerset; 5 Nov 2014.

We were down in Burnham on a beautifully sunny day yesterday, and I was doing something I very much enjoy – my wife being busy in a knitting shop, I was wandering around Burnham’s main street, looking long and hard at anything and everything, taking it all in.

And there was an empty shop, bereft of most of its fittings, but with a spiral staircase whirling within like a slender, metallic pirouette.  The sun was blasting down the street, reflections were flying all over the place, and I looked in the window, thought “Who’s that old man?”, and photographed him.

And no, before you ask, when I sat on a seat with my cap in my hand, no one put money it and said “Penny for the guy” ………

Hubby doesn’t accompany me into knitting shops either. 🙂
I’ve seen your good Lady’s wine glass a few times but I’m surprised you’ve not attempted to capture some of her intricate stitches for posterity. 😀

No, well, you know, its a man thing … it would just be unbearable if they started giving my advice on my slipstitch … knit one, pearl one, pass the slipstitch over .. ah I owe so much to Dylan Thomas!

And as for posterity, she only knits clothes items for the upper body >>> and … AND … I have in fact already posted a pic of her knitting – or was it a knit of her picking? – anyway, its in PEOPLE 70 I think – get thee hence, Little Blogging Person, but, if its all the same to you, try not to multiply … 🙂 ….

Love the sort of quilted texture here caused by the vertical lines. Love the way the light catches the side of your face too! Another inspired selfie 🙂

Happy Freitag Adrian here’s to a good weekend 🙂

Be careful about that first line, it might play merry hell with your opticals …. and if you don’t see what I mean then it probably already has ….

And a very good Freitag and weekend to you too, Poppy – hope you’re fine! Adrian 🙂
