Blue rope
.
Rope on the beach at West Bay, near Bridport, Dorset; 5 Oct 2005.

A tangle of rope left on the beach at West Bay, a crop from a larger composition.  I’ve converted the colour photo into mono with SEP2 and added more contrast and above all structure, and then restored some of the rope’s bright blue colour.  The black shadows are important here: paler shadows would have far less effect.

OM-4 with 75-150 Zuiko; Fuji Provia 400 colour slide, rated at 1600 ISO; converted to mono, followed by restoration of some of the original colour, in Silver Efex Pro 2.

And I'm fond of Full English Breakfasts and Duvel golden ale, though not necessarily together.

My stomach churned when I first saw this, I thought you’d been delving deep into a box of worms, or worse still, maggots.
Thank goodness for post titles. 🙂

  5. I see what you mean about the shadows. And I really like the blue. I did not realize what it was at first. Who thought rope could look so good. Working your magic, bud!
