BRISTOL 81 – AND IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE CAT 3

And in the beginning was the cat 3
.
Our friends’ cat; 19 July 2014.

Light streamed in from a single window to the right, blazing across her white fur and highlighting the translucent pink of her ear.

A very shallow depth of field, sharp focus extending across from her left ear to the lashes above her left eye, with everything else blurring into a soft and vague impression.

Earlier images of this cat are here and here.

D700 with 105mm Nikkor; 400 ISO; Color Efex Pro 4.

  4. Wonderful processing Adrian, the softness is just right, the whole feel of the image for me conveys how soft the fur would be.

Lisa, you’re exactly right, you’re picking up exactly what I intended – its all about the softness of the fur – looking at this image, both now and for some time past. its that softness that really gets to me.

Out walking this morning, I saw a cat I know well and, although it had disappeared behind a wall, all I had to do say was “Pussy, pussy, pussy” and it shot back into view and rushed towards me. A
