Foggy morning along the Wells Road near Broadwalk, south Bristol; 13 Mar 2014.
The huge Plane tree in the foreground has had its branches pruned many times, including recently, giving it its bare, knobbly appearance. At top left, a pigeon perches, probably a Wood Pigeon, gazing down at the crawling traffic below. There is another pigeon, further right. The tree behind retains its growth of thin branches from last year.
Canon G11 PowerShot at 63mm (35mm equivalent); 200 ISO; Silver Efex Pro 2, starting at the Film Noir 1 preset.

I’m pleased with this one too – apart from the vehicles, it could be long ago. Glad you like it, my friend! A

How can one not love this one…
Fantastic!
Ps Btw, I always look at images on my PC – I never look at images in a cell phone/mobile phone 😉

I love this photo! On my tiny iPhone, the lights on the vehicle at the bottom left look spooky. Maybe, just maybe, that pigeon is checking you out. (I had to zoom in – old peepers, ya know)

You should look at pictures on some bigger screen, its better and much less effort – not being up with things, I’m not going to get an iPhone, I just use my PC. And my mobile phone is about 15 years old – people laugh at it! 🙂 … or are they laughing at me? …. who cares?
I’m pleased you like the picture – attagirl!!! And the pigeon is checking me out?! When I whistled up birds on safari I’d always pray I wasn’t using the mating call, I mean, it’d play hell with one’s headgear. And in any case I’m spoken for. And shouted at. And I’ve eaten pigeons, which puts “love” into a whole new context.
We went to our favourite café, through the fog, but it had !£$%^&*( closed down!!! which is a terrible shame – no other eateries that I know come anywhere near its breakfasts. But we did find another place to eat and, just as on our first visit there, a year or more back, it was excellent.
I hope you’re doing well this Saturday! ATP xxx

Closed down? Noooooo! I hate when that happens! But it is an opportunity to search for new places. (This is me trying to have a positive so on things) I think I ate pigeon once, but don’t remember if I like it. My good ol’ dad had a tendency to capture things, pigeons, rabbits, and who knows what all else, and shove them into the oven. Being a poor family,I think he considered these captures delicacies. Whatever. Things are well here ATP. Sounds like things are good there too, so, until we meet gain… Fondly, ATP 😉

Ha – so you were out early in the fog too! I’ve just posted an image of a tree with a wood pigeon on it! Great minds, as they say.
Love the atmosphere in this image. The branches look as if they are reaching up looking for blue sky.

Haha – right! Oh yes – the literature I’ve just received from Bristol’s U3A says that the organisation is for retired people – does your branch specify that too? You could try looking decrepit, I could give you some hints … 🙂

Yes – they do allude to the courses being for the retired. Maybe I could gatecrash ……. . Actually it’s got me wondering whether there are any WEA courses around here. They used to have interesting subjects.

And there are also Adult Education classes. Bristol Uni used to run a series of lectures on The Arts every autumn, and also series in other subjects, but I think some of this has been hit by financial cutbacks.
