Caravans on Hayling Island; 21 Sept 2010.
Two green caravans standing side by side, rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise. The green sides of these metal boxes are lit normally by the sun, but their rectangular ends are extremely reflective, reflecting something very bright off to the left. Part of the side of a third caravan is seen at the bottom of the shot.
D700 with 70-300 Nikkor at 300mm; 200 ISO; rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise.

Have you seen my explanation in the comment below here – I expect it confuses things even more … 😉 … try standing on your head … if your feet will reach around … that far … it probably won’t help … but wow! … what a sensation! …
How are you getting on? And a great big Happy 2014 to you both! We didn’t stay up for midnight, never do, but we are now faced with a leisurely day, which must be good, tho the weather forecast is wet wet wet! Had it not been, we’d have tootled down to Burnham-On-Sea, to wallow in the Cottage Cafe’s monster breakfast – still the best full English I know.
Hope you two are good! Adrian 🙂

We made it to midnight but not much beyond. 😉
It’s snowing right now. Thank goodness Jeff got the snow blower working. I wish I had known about the choke when I was trying to get it to run a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn’t have had to shovel so dang much!
Live and learn.

I love this one, no matter that you told us what it was, no matter that I,ve stared at it for ages…I still can,t see the caravans! That doesn,t stop me from loving the shot. Very clever.

Thanks, Sue! >>> don’t go bog-eyed over this, but if you can make a copy of this and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise, you will be at its original orientation. Then, the green areas with horizontal bands are the sides of the 3 caravans, and the caravan on the right is throwing a small shadow onto the green side of the caravan in the middle.
The two wildly reflective objects are the flat ends (think of the ends of boxes) of the caravan on the right and the one in the middle. That any help? Need an optician to get your eyes back into synch???? 🙂

It does look odd, doesn’t it. To me, the green sides to the caravans can be seen as a single, flat plane, from which the two reflective ends are standing up – maybe held up by struts which are coming up from the single flat plane, and which are not visible because they are behind these two upstanding panels – I think I need a glass of Highland Park … 🙂 ……

I like this one a lot; subtle and well composed abstract.
