The camouflaged upperparts of a Ray, lying on the bottom of its tank in Newquay Aquarium, Cornwall; 6 Nov 2007.
This picture is not completely sharp because it was taken looking down through moving water. But with this wonderful colouration and patterning, I don’t think that matters at all – in fact the whole hazy blueness of the image adds to its atmosphere.

I like the tweets as much as the ray. I like the color and pattern of the ray and the background. I also like the dreamy image through water. I love the child’s rhyme.

Hi Sonali! I seem to be posting large amounts of mono recently. That’s not a bad thing, but I like to keep my images varied, and so to this colour explosion. A 🙂

There are two categories of photographers ( I always say that there are “photographers” and there are photographers). Category 1: Always (and I mean ALWAYS) talking about technique and sharpness and don’t see that much when they are photographing… Category 2: Talking about images and always seeing something when they are photographing. I hope you know what I mean. 🙂

Yes, I do know what you mean – and from my immaculate filing system, i.e. the great, messy stack of paper on the floor beside me, I have retrieved an article relating to this point, talking about right- and left-brained photographers. I’ve been meaning to talk about this on my blog for ages (the article was published in July!), and I’ll try and get round to it.
