CORNWALL 53 – LICHEN IN ST IVES (MONO + COLOUR)

Lichen on a wall in St Ives; 24 Apr 2012.

My eyes see this image in two ways – one is the corner of a building jutting out towards us (which is reality), whereas the other is a near horizontal masonry surface intersecting with a nearly vertical one.

Nikon D700 with 70mm-300mm VR Nikkor at 210mm; 400 ISO; conversion to mono and selective colour restoration in Silver Efex Pro 2, starting at the Film Noir 1 preset; vertically flipped.

    • Glad you like it, Helen, thank you! Have a great time in Cuba – I’m sure it’ll be fascinating and enjoyable, and very photogenic too! Take care! Adrian

  1. As you well know, Adrian, I’m a great lichen fan. This presents a wonderful set of angles, textures, light, and shadow, and a great overall balance.
