I’m a fan of mono, and of simplicity and Minimalism. Well, this Dandelion seedhead from Meanderer is complex within itself of course, but I find this a photo of great simplicity, and one that is achingly beautiful. FATman

The Lantern Room

I took this photograph of a dandelion seedhead this morning before I went to work. I still feel a child-like sense of wonder when I look at the form and patterns of these much photographed seedheads – particularly when they catch the sun like this.

Today, the cold, damp, grey Spring has given way to a much more Summery feel. It was quite a surprise to feel the very hot sunshine on my skin when I walked to work today. Temps are in the mid-twenties Celsius and the sky has been a lovely shade of blue. Wonderful!

Many thanks for the reblog Adrian; I appreciate it.

I have just remembered your B&W dandelion image – the group of them which you posted a few months ago. Can I request a re-posting for me and newcomers to your blog?

You may appreciate it but you even more certainly deserve it! What a picture!

I’m getting tremendously forgetful these days, due to age, booze and a million % detailed job, and increasingly due to thinking photography, the blog, the whole blog and nothing but the blog, but I will go over to my (absolutely indispensable!) home diary and make a note to re-surface that Dandilion pic >>> funnily enough, it is one that I’ve recently been thinking about posting under Self-Indulgence because I like it very much too – so great minds think alike!
Watch this space! No, not me, the blog, the blog!….. A

  3. Love this!!! Reminds me of a snowflake or Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who…. There’s a whole new world on that delicate and fragile bloom! I’m also diggin’ the black and white. Beautiful photograph!! 🙂
