Mooring lines on the beach in St Ives harbour, Cornwall;  27 Apr 2006.

This picture was  taken looking down onto the beach from West Pier.  It might look good in mono, but I think that the subtle colours of the sand and the seawater add something to the shot.

Leica Minilux; Fuji Provia 400 colour slide; image rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

A beautiful abstract, Adrian. I agree that the subtle colors add interest–but I’d also like to see it in monochrome. Love the little wave coming across!

  2. This being in a portrait format really has a nice effect for me as the lines direct the eyes and let you discover those nice textures along the way. Good one, Adrian.

Thanks, Brandon! Yes, portrait format – I have the excellent book “Refractions”, by Ralph Gibson, and he says that he prefers portrait format, that this format produces more interesting and eye-catching pictures – I recommend this book to anyone interested in photography. Thanks again, Adrian

This is a gorgeous perspective.. a wonderful abstract when you turn it like this.. Great job again Adrain.

“The 50k is well deserved???” to what do you refer Adrian?

Thanks, Helen! >>> but do try not to call me “Adrain” – although I have to admit that people often do! And, in view of my liking for beer and cider, it is actually very descriptive, precise and correct – how much deeper a hole can I possibly dig for myself???????!

I’m a great fan of Mimo’s photography and we have similar visual tastes. The 50k refers to the fact that her excellent blog has just gone over 50,000 hits, which in my view is thoroughly deserved. Adrian
